If you don’t have access to a scale, you can use about two tablespoons per 6oz of water. If brewing decaffeinated coffee, it is recommended to use a bit more for proper extraction.

If you own a scale, it’s recommended to start with a 1:16 ratio. This means that for every 1 gram of coffee, you should use 16ml/gr of water. To make the math easier, just divide the amount of water you’ll be using by 16. For example, if you’re using 500ml/gr of water, that would mean you should use around 30-31 grams of coffee.

If brewing decaffeinated coffee, it is recommended to start with a 1:15 ratio and adjust from there.

You can always adjust the above ratios to your preference, so don’t be afraid to add more grounds for a stronger taste or reduce the amount for a lighter taste. Enjoy the perfect cup of coffee!

Yes, absolutely! It's best to use soft, filtered drinking water when brewing your coffee. Avoid using hard water or tap water, as they can lead to limescale buildup in your coffee machine or kettle and negatively affect the extraction and taste of your final brew. If you wouldn't drink the water, it's best not to use it.

We recommend using Aquacode Coffee Brewing Water or Third Wave Water for optimal results.

Yes, coffee can be a part of a healthy lifestyle for many people when consumed in moderation. While it's important to note that individual responses to coffee can vary, several studies have highlighted potential health benefits associated with moderate coffee consumption. Here are some key points:

1. Antioxidants and Nutrients:

Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants, including chlorogenic acid, which can help combat oxidative stress in the body. It also contains essential nutrients like riboflavin (vitamin B2), niacin (vitamin B3), and magnesium.

2. Improved Cognitive Function:

Moderate coffee consumption has been linked to enhanced cognitive performance, alertness, and improved mood. The caffeine in coffee can stimulate the central nervous system, potentially improving focus and mental clarity.

3. Physical Performance:

Caffeine has shown to have an ergogenic effect, meaning it can enhance physical performance during exercise. It may help increase endurance, reduce perceived exertion, and boost fat oxidation.

4. Reduced Risk of Certain Diseases:

Some studies have associated moderate coffee intake with a lower risk of certain conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, liver disease (including cirrhosis), and certain types of cancer (such as liver and colorectal cancer).

5. Heart Health:

Moderate coffee consumption has been associated with a reduced risk of heart disease, heart failure, and stroke in some studies. However, excessive consumption or adding unhealthy ingredients like sugar and cream can negate these potential benefits.

It's important to note that individual responses to coffee can vary based on factors such as overall health, genetics, and sensitivity to caffeine. For some individuals, excessive coffee consumption or pre-existing medical conditions may warrant caution or limitation of intake. Additionally, pregnant women, individuals with certain heart conditions, or those who experience adverse effects from caffeine should consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

As with any dietary component, moderation is key. Opting for black coffee or adding minimal amounts of healthy additives can help maximize the potential benefits of coffee while minimizing any negative effects.
